About Roadmap

Melissa Stein IEP Information Special education educational consultant melissa ingber aspergers

This service is designed for families whose child recently received an autism diagnosis. Melissa Stein helps parents build a roadmap of next steps, including helping parents assess their goals for their child and how, when and where to advocate for their child towards reaching those goals. Melissa also helps parents understand how existing evaluations inform special education decisions, and identify areas requiring additional data. While Melissa Stein is not a clinician, she can explain how different disciplines can support your child, and she works with parents to develop a list of questions to ask providers to assess if they are a good fit for your child and your family.

Advocate Navigator embraces neurodiversity. Each child has unique needs, strengths and abilities. All people with disabilities have an inalienable right to self-advocacy and self-determination. With the right supports, and leveraging of strengths, your child's autism can be a superpower as much as it is a challenge.
